How to Apply Your Favourite Perfume
Ever experienced strolling along a sidewalk when you suddenly walked past someone and you had to take a second look because that person smelled so good? It was as if they had dunked themselves in perfume before heading out the door and left a trail of sweet smell wherever they went.
It’s nice to have a signature scent. But before you soak and bathe yourself in your favorite perfume to achieve that kind of showstopper fragrance, check out some things you need to remember when applying it. It is not so much about the amount of perfume you put on yourself but how you apply them.
1. Know your perfume’s concentration.
First of all, it is helpful to know the concentration so that you can set your expectations right. Your perfume’s composition can also determine how long the fragrance can last on your skin. The more concentrated it is, the more intense its scent lingers on your skin. Eau de Parfum is more concentrated and longer-lasting because of its 15% to 20% fragrance oil component as compared to Eau de Toilette which only has around 5% to 15%. 2. Dab the perfume on your moisturized skin.
They say that perfume stays on for longer times when your skin is moisturized. You can probably use some unscented lotion or moisturizer to lock in the fragrance. It will also help if you will just dab your skin with the perfume and not rub the perfume too hard.
3. Apply the perfume on your pulse points.
Any type of perfume reacts well to heat and applying your perfume on your pulse points can help circulate the fragrance throughout the day. Spritz or dab your perfume on the nape of your neck, behind your ears, insides of your elbows, your wrists and even the back of your knees.
4. If you can, use matching scented products.
Most fragrances usually come in sets, like shower gels, lotions and perfumes. Try to use them together in order for you to smell more like the scent of your perfume. Try to also avoid having different kinds of scents mixed together, which may tend to produce an overpowering smell. You can find a variety of wonderful scents from For Kanso that might just work for you best.
5. Spritz away!
If you want your perfume to complement your natural scent, try doing the “spritz and step.” Spray the perfume in front of you and walk right through it and back out. This can give your clothes a light spray and will have you covered for the rest of the day.
6. Store your perfume in a cool dry place.
A perfume’s components can change over time when exposed to water, humidity, changing temperatures, or even sunlight. It is best to store them in a cool dry place to maintain its composition and prolong the shelf life.
In essence, do not buy perfume just for the sake of buying it. Remember, fragrances, just like any other cosmetic products, are designed to enhance and complement our bodies. Know how to use them to your advantage, so that it can help you feel even better about yourself!
